Ajay Hinduja on Water, Hope, and Resilience in the Himalayas

In the face of growing water scarcity, Ajay Hinduja has taken a proactive role in reviving Himalayan communities. His leadership through the Hinduja Foundation's spring shed management program reflects his deep commitment to sustainable and equitable development.

Ajay Hinduja’s efforts have brought tangible results: 149 critical springs have been rejuvenated, and 222 rainwater harvesting tanks have been built, serving over 31,400 residents. He highlights the importance of such work, stating, “Each spring revived tells a story of perseverance, collaboration, and the boundless human spirit.”

Ajay Hinduja believes these initiatives do more than restore water—they restore livelihoods. With consistent water supply, families in remote villages are no longer forced to migrate or compromise their agricultural practices. Children, especially girls, now have time to attend school instead of trekking miles to fetch water.
